August Sizzles for Barrs Members   11/08/2017

This month is busy on many fronts for our club and members. We summarise key news items below

  1.  Damien Cahalane , Pat Keane and John Myler head to Croke Park on Sunday 13th August for the All Ireland hurling semi final and we extend to  them our very best wishes. Club members of all ages will be present to roar the lads on, lets hope for victory and a place in the FINAL!
  2. We wish Keeva McCarthy, Marian McCarthy, Sean Cremin and Paudie Murray the very best of luck in the All Ireland camogie intermediate championship against Down in Fermoy, on Saturday 12th August
  3. Congratulations to the minor hurlers who have reached the P2 county semi- final following extra time victories against Mallow and Ballincollig, wonderful heart and character shown by the team in both games
  4. Our application to become members of the Ladies GFA has been successful and we look forward to providing training and games for our young girls in the immediate future, we acknowledge the hard work of our colleagues who have progressed this matter in recent months. Well done 
  5. Good luck to Gemma o'Connor , Maeve Cahalane,  Sean Cremin and Paudie Murray in the All Ireland Camogie semi final in Limerick on Saturday August 19th
  6. The Annual Golf classic is scheduled for Friday 1st September in Monkstown GC, timesheet is now very full in the afternoon, times available in the morning. Interested members and friends please contact the organising team, asap!
  7. Our SF team are scheduled to play in Rd 2 of the County championship on Saturday 19th August v Newcestown, in Pairc UI Rinn, lets hope we get to play the game! Our last fixture was late April!!
